Most Americans are tuned in when any President gives the "State of the Union" address. For some, that is the extent of their active part in democracy, but getting involved locally is something that should be on the grocery list. Three Point One Four encourages you to attend your Community Board meetings, and visit your Assembly and/or Congress person's office. Getting to know the people who directly represent you might be the way to finally fix the ginormous pot hole on the corner. Kudos to Assemblyman and Reverend Karim Camara, who held his third annual "State of the (43rd) District" address tonight at Downstate Medical Center. The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band (pictured above), who also played in the Presidential Inaugural Parade brought the house down. Assemblyman/Reverend Karim on behalf of the New York State Assembly also honored several outstanding citizens for their service to their community. The crowd was a humble mix of the Jewish , Latino, and African American community of the 43rd district. Hopefully in the near future Three Point Four On will be able to have the Assemblyman give some insight on what it is like to be both a Reverend and a Politician. One another note, here is a snippet of President Obama's 100th day press conference today: ENJOY HERE.
